About the bands

THE BACKSTEPS are an up-and-coming Canadian band whose members have been active in their local music scenes since 2015. Coining the genre “thrift rock,” The Backsteps combine music and energy where nostalgia meets now.

Established in 2020, The Backsteps are a powerhouse ensemble made up of the lead vocalist Seth Hunt, bassist Luke Garrison, guitarist Josh McEvoy, and drummer Devin Pierce. Their rise to prominence was marked by a sensational US debut at the iconic Whisky a Go-Go in Hollywood, CA, in 2022, where they shared the stage with the legendary Misfits guitarist Doyle. In 2023, they hit the circuit running, as they were invited back to play at the Whisky A Go-Go. Fresh off a wildly successful West Coast US tour, their debut EP Six to Midnight was released with rave reviews. But they’re not stopping there... Currently, The Backsteps are rocking through various venues around Canada, building anticipation for the release of their sophomore EP, Used and Amused. Anchored by the success of the lead single "Peyote," The Backsteps’ music has captivated audiences and critics alike, garnering attention on prestigious playlists and radio stations.

KYRA is a Toronto-based folk artist known for her exceptional songwriting and storytelling abilities, as well as her captivating yet intimate live performances. Kyra has established herself in Toronto’s music scene over the past year but her musical journey began in her hometown of Kingston, ON.
